Home James launches new island-wide taxi service

Home James has expanded its business to launch a new island-wide taxi service, offering yet another way to deliver people home comfortably and safely. The taxi service aims to build Jersey’s first fully green fleet, featuring the first all-electric taxi at the time of launch as part of a goal to contribute to a cleaner greener island. All taxis are thoroughly cleaned in-between clients, with drivers wearing regulation masks throughout the journey to meet with Covid-19 regulations.

Alex Morgan, Director of Home James, said: “The launch of the taxi service has been something we have considered for a while now, but felt this was the right time to launch with circumstances allowing us to grow this service slowly to ensure we can deliver a consistent and superior service to islanders.”

The Government’s DVS department has welcomed another player to the taxi market in an effort to encourage more entrepreneurship and innovative into the industry to drive it forward.

Alex said: “The average age of taxi drivers in Jersey is currently over 60 years, something we would like to see change in the future. We would like students to consider this profession as a career avenue and to think about ways to do things a little differently.”

Home James Taxi Services will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week across the island, delivering the same reliable and trustworthy service for which it has become known for. The new taxi service compliments the company’s existing services; providing carback and the mobile valeting of vehicles. The company hope that those customers familiar with Home James services will now utilise the new taxi service, allowing the company to cover all of their transportation and valeting requirements.
